Sources inform "Globes" that Israeli start-up Sandlinks (formerly InfoRange) recently completed a $5 million financing round, led by Vertex Management Israel. StageOne Ventures and Star Ventures also invested.
CEO Avi Menkes, Gideon Kaplan, and Dr. Dan Raphaeli founded Sandlinks in the Lab-One Innovations incubator. The current round includes a pre-seed investment of hundreds of thousands of dollars by StageOne and Star.
SandLinks develops radio frequency identification (RFID) systems that make it possible to broadcast signals at long range. The company’s active RFID switches are substantially cheaper than the RFID switches currently on the market, which cost tens, and sometimes even hundreds, of dollars.
