Palestinians begin construction of new city

Rawabi is located 20 kilometers north of Ramallah.

The Palestinian Authority began construction of the new city of Rawabi this month. The city is located 20 kilometers north of Ramallah, 40 kilometers east of Tel Aviv, and 70 kilometers west of Jordan's capital of Amman.

Rawabi will have 5,000 housing units, costing $70,000 each. Occupancy is scheduled in five years.
